The Terrace Inn is one of those rare places you'll stay at in present day. They've kept that old charm it had back in the day. If you're expecting a trouble free, quiet modern place, you may be disappointed. My first stay I was unhappy because I had become used to very modern places. I have learned now to seek a better, more roomy shower, and 1st floor. There is no elevator, multiple floors, and some rooms the shower is very small, and short. I've since taken my wife to stay, and she fell in love with it too. It is a pleasant change from the modern cookie cutter places we normally stay at. Takes you back in time. The staff here is 2nd to none. Extremely friendly, very helpful and open to nearly any requests. With a spine injury, I sleep sitting, the chair in my room I found uncomfortable, they brought another chair in, and I had not slept better! The food is also good, everything I have eaten here has been really good, some things different than how I've traditionally seen the...

I felt like I was at a home away from home the moment my boyfriend and I walked in! From the lovely hospitality of Belinda, warm tea, and a fireplace upon our arrival to the comfortable bed and delicious breakfast to prepare for a day of skiing, our expectactions were exceeded. We will surely be back!!

The Terrace Inn is the only place I will stay when I visit Petoskey. It is so refreshing to be somewhere that feels more like a home than a chain hotel. The staff are amazing and the owners will sit there and strike up a conversation with you like you've been friends forever. This last trip, my family and I moved our vacation around just so we could stay at the Terrace Inn (they were all booked up when we were originally going to go up). I cannot say enough good things about this place. Oh! The food is phenomenal, as well! If you go to Petoskey, you HAVE to stay at the Terrace Inn!

The Terrace Inn and 1911 Restaurant

The Terrace Inn and 1911 Restaurant (inside the Inn and open to the public) is a 38 Room Vintage Hotel located in Bay View Association. Surrounded by Victorian Cottages on a bluff with views of Little Traverse Bay, the Inn has been open to the public for lodging and dining since 1911. A favorite among locals, Bay View cottagers and in-house guests from all over the world, we've preserved that home like atmosphere, friendly service, and quality dining experience. Bay View's concerts and theater productions are open to the public offering world class performances each summer, our peak season, while fall in Petoskey affords scenic colorful drives along the shoreline, wine trails, great shopping and the 1911 is open weekends.  Winter time is a magical scene where the Inn sits quietly among the quiet closed cottages and skiing or snow shoeing throughout Bay View's snow-covered windy roads is an exhilarating good time!
